SAINTS ANARGYROI, 16th – 19th c.

In its present-day form, the church of the Saints Anargyroi is a five-aisled timber-roofed church with a hip roof, most likely built in the early 19th c., incorporating the eastern wall of an older church decorated with 16th-c. mural paintings. The separation of the more recent church is effected by four rows of wooden pillars. The northern aisle has a timber matroneum. Two dedicatory inscriptions are preserved from the church, the first on a portable icon of St. Paraskevi, dating back to the early 17th c., while the second, of the year 1764, mentions the dedication of a copper tray to the church by the donor Roussos.
