Ο Άγιος Νικόλαος της Μακαριώτισσας είναι μία μονόχωρη, ξυλόστεγη εκκλησία με νάρθηκα. Υπήρξε πιθανόν καθολικό γυναικείας μονής, που κτίστηκε χάρη στη φροντίδα και τα έξοδα του άρχοντα Γλυκέος Ζευγίτη και της μοναχής Ρεβέκκας στα 1571-1573. Δέχθηκε ριζικές ανακατασκευές το 18ο αι. και μία δεύτερη εκτεταμένη επέμβαση σε νεώτερους χρόνους, με αποτέλεσμα από τον αρχικό ναό να σώζεται μόνον ο δυτικός τοίχος. Από την αρχική διακόσμηση του ναού στα 1571-1573 διατηρούνται παραστάσεις στον δυτικό τοίχο του κεντρικού κλίτους και τον ανατολικό τοίχο του νάρθηκα. Στο δεύτερο μισό του 18ου αι., χρονολογούνται οι παραστάσεις του ιερού, στην κόγχη και τον ανατολικό τοίχο, και στην κόγχη της πρόθεσης.

Saint Nikolaos of Makariotissa is a single-aisled, timber-roofed church with a narthex. It was most likely the catholicon (the main church) of a female monastery, erected under the supervision and at the expense of Lord Glykys Zevgitis and the nun Rebecca around 1571-1573. It was radically reconstructed in the 18th c. and underwent extensive interventions in recent times; as a result, only the western wall of the initial church survives. Mural paintings of the original decoration of the church from 1571 – 1573 stand still on the western wall of the nave and the eastern wall of the narthex. The mural paintings of the sanctuary, the niche, the eastern wall and the niche of the prothesis (left part of the sanctuary) date back to the second half of the 18th c.
